Oregon County Farm Bureau

Photos of Oregon County Farm Bureau, the February 2016 Alton Advertiser Business of the Month.

On August 12, 1980, six Oregon County farmers and business men gathered to create the Oregon County Farm Bureau. In doing this, they became part of the largest farm organization in the state and the country. Being a membership based organization, the board worked hard and quickly gained 40 members throughout the county. They participated in local and state activities to spread the word about what Farm Bureau offered for agriculture and rural Missouri. Oregon County now has a membership base of 800 and is still growing. Though the organization has seen many changes since 1980, the main belief of protecting agriculture and farming practices and standing up for rural Missouri is still there. Our voices are heard loud and clear at the state and federal law making levels and we plan to continue this for generations to come.

Another aspect of Farm Bureau is the insurance services side. Following suit with membership and the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation, meeting the needs of Oregon County farmers and business folks were top priority. Services such as Farm, Home, Auto, Life, and Health insurance products were developed to satisfy these needs.

Today, the Oregon County Farm Bureau office carries out the same beliefs, ideas and traditions as it did in 1980. With Agent Zach Barton, and Bonnie Hughes Customer Service Representative, they are always willing and happy to assist with any questions about insurance as well as farming and agriculture. So if you are interested in an insurance quote, becoming a member or just want to visit, you are ALWAYS welcome at the Oregon County Farm Bureau!!
