Our police department and local merchants arrange to make this possible along with the Chamber of Commerce.

Alton Freewill Baptist String Band plays each Sunday during the song service. If you have a shut-in friend who cannot attend, tell them to go to http://www.altonfwb.org on the internet and hear Pastor Charles Trantham's sermon. Click on STRING BAND to hear their music.

Welcome to Alton, MO, the hub of Oregon County. The lovely, spring fed, Eleven Point River is one of the best canoe float streams in the Ozarks. Also the walking trail, surrounded by wildlife, to Greer Springs, is refreshing and enjoyable. Another main attraction, the first Saturday of October every year, is Alton's Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival. You are welcome to come for a day or come to stay, but come.
